Kurdish girl with family shoes
From the scrapbook of Buy Shoes, Save Lives, which sells handmade Iraqi shoes called klash. 100 percent of the profits are used to pay for heart surgeries for Iraqi children.
When I was little, my parents bought me a pair of brogans just like my dad and brothers wore around the farm. I thought they were the coolest shoes ever, even though they killed my feet. I'm a big girl now, and my boots fit much better.
